Very delicious and authentic Hong Kong-style Cantonese food. The choy sum was very tender and fresh, and the eggplant pot was especially flavorful. The whole meal felt really comforting and satisfying.

the food portion is large for the price (avg 16-20) per dish. note that rice is an extra 5 dollars as a side. i think the weakest dish was the lamb hotpot as there wasnt a strong lamb flavor, but the beef chow fun was not oily and actually delicious. overall I would come again if i was with my family to enjoy authentic hk cuisine.

The chicken wasn’t properly cleaned—there were feathers in many places, not just one part. I really can’t eat it. The squid tentacles were fine, but this chicken really ruins my appetite.

Outstanding BBQ. We tried to have a wonton noodle lunch the Sam Woo BBQ inside Del Mar Plaza, but it changed ownership. We ordered the wonton noodle and the 2 BBQ items platter. The first bite of my wonton was fishy. Maybe 1 bad shrimp, but the other wontons were okay. The noodles were good, but not as good as the Sam Woo on Las Tunas Blvd (next to 168 Supermarket) and the wontons were not as good as Cafe Spot (across from Garden Cafe') on Baldwin. Good, but not great. What was Excellent was the BBQ dishes. The pork skin was so crispy and tasty. Perfect. The BBQ duck was also very very good. The BBQ dishes were flavorful and made up for the somewhat bland wonton noodle dish. I'll be back for more.

Located in the 99 Ranch plaza. I remember when this plaza was nice and new. It's deteriorated over the years. I believe this restaurant used to be Sam-woo express. Unfortunately, There are now many vacant stores. It appears they're trying to refinish the plaza. There's plenty of free self parking. The restaurant is clean but could use a bit of refurbishing. The staff was friendly and attentive. The menu has lots of yummy Cantonese dishes to choose from. We were there for a friend's birthday party so we ordered lots of dishes to sample and share (family style). Portions are generous and prices are reasonable.
